Terms of Service

By creating an account, reading as a guest, or otherwise using MBBS ("we," "us," "our," the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

MBBS is an interactive fiction platform: choice-driven, branching stories delivered chapter by chapter, sold by the season. You can sample a season's first chapter as a guest before deciding to buy.

• You must meet the minimum age requirement in our Privacy Policy (§2) to create an account.
• One account per person. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• Your username is auto-generated at signup and editable afterward in account settings.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (see §9).

You may read the first chapter of a season without an account. Guest progress is held locally on your device/session. If you sign up, it's carried into your new account once, at signup (see Privacy Policy §3). Guest access does not create any ownership or entitlement beyond that free sample chapter.

• Seasons are sold as one-time purchases — no subscriptions, no in-app currency, no per-chapter micropayments.
• On web, purchases are processed by Flutterwave. On mobile, purchases go through Apple's App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems, per each platform's own purchase terms, which also apply to you as the purchaser.
• Prices vary by region. Your price is based on your account's registered country at signup, not your current location at time of purchase. See Privacy Policy §3 for how that's determined.
• A completed purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to read that season through the Service. It does not transfer any ownership of the underlying story, art, or other content.
• Seasons may release chapter by chapter over time. Purchasing a season gives you access to every chapter in it — including ones not yet published — as each one releases; it does not guarantee any specific release date or that every chapter has already been written at the time you buy. If we permanently discontinue a season before every chapter has released, you're entitled to a full refund of that purchase.
• Refunds: where you purchased via Apple or Google, refund requests are handled under their respective platform refund policies. Where you purchased via Flutterwave (web), you may request a refund within 7 days of your purchase by emailing support@readmbbs.com — refunds are considered case by case rather than automatic, since digital content is delivered immediately upon purchase.

• All story content — text, character art, backgrounds, story structure, and the MBBS brand — is owned by MBBS or its licensors and protected by copyright and other IP laws. Your purchase gives you a license to read/experience it, not to copy, redistribute, republish, or create derivative works from it.
• You may not extract, scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute story art or text outside the app.
• Season Reactions: picking a reaction doesn't create any content you own or that we need a license to — you're selecting from a fixed set we provide, not writing anything. What we do with it (showing it as part of an anonymous aggregate total) is covered by our Privacy Policy, not a content-license question.

• Referral points are earned only when a referred reader completes real engagement (at minimum, finishing their free sample chapter) — not merely for creating an account.
• 3 points = 1 free story of your choosing, per the program's current terms (subject to change with notice).
• Don't attempt to manipulate the referral program (e.g. fake accounts, self-referral, throwaway accounts). We may withhold or reverse points earned through fraudulent, automated, or abusive referral activity.

You control which notification types and channels you receive, in account settings. We only send notifications tied to something that actually happened (a new chapter, a referral point) — never manufactured urgency or "come back" prompts.

• You may delete your account at any time (see Privacy Policy §9).
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in fraud or abuse (including referral abuse), or if required by law.
• Season purchases already completed are not automatically forfeited by account termination initiated by us without cause. You keep access to any content already released to you, for as long as technically feasible; any purchased-but-not-yet-released chapters are handled under the same refund provision as §5's incomplete-season policy.

The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, and story content, pricing, and features may change over time. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MBBS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Nigeria, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence (e.g. EU/UK consumers).

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date, and flag material changes more prominently where appropriate (e.g. in-app notice or email).
